Valerie Smith-Massey is the Executive Director of Faith Works Drama Company. Valerie was also the Producer of the Everett Theatre in Middletown, Delaware until she decided to lift her company to the next level.
Valerie has been singing and performing since the tender age of Four. Her first performance was in, "Singing In The Rain" and then several church and school plays. She also played the Violin at the age of 7 all the way through College.
Valerie was the Fine Arts Director of her church and began writing and directing plays at the age of 16. After College, she joined a singing group and had the opportunity to perform at many Universities throughout Florida. She also started a choir at the Spofford Youth Prison in New York and did outreach at the Covenant House, Rikers Island and Sing-Sing Correctional Facility.
Valerie performed in many Musical Productions such as, "Mama I Want To Sing" as Sister Carrie, "Ain't Misbehavin" as Nell Carter, "Smokey Joes Cafe" as B.J. Crosby, and "The Wiz" as Evilenne. She was also the Producer for "Little Shop Of Horrors" and "Annie".
Valerie wrote and directed several plays such as, "No Place Like Home", "A Bet For Your Soul", "Is This Your Life", "After Josephs Amazing Coat", "Mean Ole Scrooge" and "9/11 Through Our Eyes", which is the closest to her heart because she worked at the World Trade Center and was in the building during the 1993 bombing at the twin towers.
Valerie's dream is to have an International Touring Company that breaks the race and denomination barrier.
